Julie Jackson wanted to feature a portrait of her two cats in her new Geneseo, IL home.

I wanted to include her horse stable in the painting and give it a pastoral English Landscape feeling.

Cleo is the big black Persian sitting on the porch rail in the reference photo which needed to be changed slightly.

It seemed only natural to use the Wyeth style window treatment as a ledge for the cats to perch themselves upon.

The reference photo of Alvin, in his natural state of relaxation, worked well as we joined him and his sister in the painting.
